What we've learned in Ouro Preto

What we've learned in Ouro Preto

From our trip to Ouro Preto we have learned a lot of things. One of the most interesting things we’ve learned was about the life of the slaves in the mines. They used to sleep really really bad, and eat too little, always being subjected to collapses and bad life conditions.

Also, we’ve learned about the baroque and rococo art styles and about the Congada, a religious dance which praises Nossa Senhora.

We have also learned about the Inconfidencie Mineira, when a rich Vila Rica’s group worked up about the income tax, started a revolt then one of the leaders was killed and the parts of his body were scattered around the city.

Some students went to an observatory where they learned about the planets and stars .
Beside that we’ve had a really nice experience in which every body got on well, stayed together and we discovered more about our friends.
