The unforgettable field trip
We the 8th grade went to Minas Gerais, Ouro Preto. Where we had the
opportunity to learn and discover the culture, places, history of this historic
city.
We visited many places like churches, where there was much gold and baroque
art, and each church had different characteristics such as social class that
attended, the saints and the format of Churches . The churches we
visited were:
Nossa Senhora do Pilar, Santa Efigênia e São Francisco de Assis.
In addition , we visited some mines, one mine is called “Mina da
Passagem”, and the other is called “Mina Jeje”, the “Mina da Passagem ” is an
artificial mine, where explosives were used and it is very large , but the “Mina
Jeje” is very low, and very long.
With the guides and teachers we understood more about
the structure of Ouro Preto, discovering that the houses were stuck together so
they can have balance and stability, as the terrain is very steep. Its streets
are made of parallelepiped floor, which is a very old
nineteenth-century floor.
In the center of town, we saw the famous Praça
Tiradentes , which has a a statue of Tiradentes , the “Museu dos Inconfidentes”,
and the “Escola de Minas”. We visited the “Museu dos Inconfidentes”. It had two
floors, the lower floor was the chain, and upstairs was the Chamber. The
“Escola de Minas” is the highest point of the square, this place worked at
government headquarters and the military headquarters
On the second of last day, we went to the “Parque Natural do Caraça”, we
took a trail and noticed the diversity of fauna and flora, our guide explained
that this place had the change from the Atlantic Forest to Cerrado, we were
amazed by the nature of the “Parque do Caraça”.
We have been to Ouro Preto and we have missed the field trip, and we
loved the trip.
