What have you learned from your trip to Ouro Preto?
We, students from
aquidiocesano have traveled with our class to Ouro Preto. There, we saw and
visited many historical places and learned a lot of things, some things that
we’re going to keep for our whole life!
The learning wasn’t just
about school things, but was about the friends and some unforgettable events.
We got to know each other better and had lots of fun in those four days.
Before we got there, we
had lunch and then we visited “mina da passagem”, a gold mine from the XVIII
century. We discovered that the temperature in there is hotter than in the
surface and the light is just artificial. There’s a lot of humidity because of
the underground river. There isn’t any kind of life in the mine because of the
absence of sun, just some fungus and bacteria.
We visited to a lot of
churches and knew their arts, in mostly, barroco-rococó and the history of
them. The churches that we visited are;
Igreja São Francisco de Assis, Igreja Nossa Senhora do Pillar and Igreja de
Santa Efigênia.
About the streets and the
landscape, we can say that they’re very rugged. Because of that bus couldn’t take
us everywhere that we needed to go, so
we walked a lot around the city, and when we’re moving from a place to another,
we could see that the houses and all the constructions are just like they were
in the XVIII century because Ouro Preto has been an important historic place in
Brazil.
Now
forgetting about school things, the trip was very fun! We met new people and
we’ve gotten to know each other better every day.
