Trip to Ouro Preto
This year, we, eighth
grades, travelled to Ouro Preto for our school trip. Besides learning a lot of
things we also knew a lot of new people. We’ve learned that Ouro Preto is a
historical patrimony, the population is 73700 inhabitants and it is located in
Minas Gerais. We visited the city, churches, museum and entered in mines.

We’ve learned that the
paving was formed by rocks of rivers, they are rounded and people call them seixo rolado or pé de moleque, later they started using parallelepiped that came
from mines.
The houses of the city
were made of mud and twinned, that means sticks together, so the houses won’t
fall.

We visited three
churches, we’ve learned about Aleijadinho and baroque art. Baroque art must is very
deep. Aleijadinho’s real name is Antonio Francisco Lisboa, he was a very
important sculptor.
We visited two mines,
Mina da Passagem and Mina do Jeje, it was very cool, but we didn’t see gold
there.
In addition to learning
about the school subjects we also got to know our friends and teachers better
and know people from other classes.

We had a lot of fun on
this trip, and everybody wants to go back again and we hope to have another
exciting trip.
